Welcome to the GameFlare forums, viewers. I have decided to submit an entry of my ideas on my goal and dream I'm devoted to, so you get the real feel of why you're here.
So you might ask, "What is the purpose of this new gaming forum?"
This is more than a mere gaming forum. The main purpose of this is not entirely about a new gaming experience, but finding a haven for you to offer your creativity for credibility. StormJedi, my most trusted, devoted assistant and fellow founder, and I are looking for beings out there who can help contribute to the creation of a completely inspired, elemental dream. That dream is a video game inspired, not controlled, by Lucasarts--Star Wars: Legions of Conquest. The recent turn of events on George Lucas's career is unfortunate, if not heartbreaking. But GameFlare is here to prove a point, which would be as stated in the animated Star Wars television series--"Where one sees failure, others see opportunity."
The reason GameFlare is looking for other volunteers is because we can't do something as expanded as we imagine alone, or without the means to initiate promising development. There is an array of talents here that are missing, and you could help make a difference. Join GameFlare for the sake of developing both skill and a dream, and for the sake of friendship. Creativity is the key here, this isn't a petty for-profit organization where we use you and then take all of the credit. We are here to welcome you, to trust you, and to give you the chance of becoming a renowned, disciplined devotee of honor.
Now that you've grasped the concept of why joining us would be a logical choice, I will move on to my ideas inspired by Jedi Academy, Republic Commando, Battlefront II, Blacklight: Retribution and Halo for Star Wars: Legions of Conquest, with many additional references.
Timeline
For the fellow Star Wars nerds out there that understand what 22 BBY means, that would be where the game starts. For those who don't know, BBY means "years before the Battle of Yavin." This game will take you through an evolving span of 25 historical years, from the creation of the Clone Army and its conversion to the destruction of the Galactic Empire ruled by the cunning Sith Lord Emperor Palpatine. Through the years, you will experience a new sense of morality inspired by Karen Traviss's Republic Commando novel series and the Clone Wars animated series. The purpose of this long timeline you have to live through is to help you develop both relationship and experience through this large endeavor.
Gameplay & Features
Communication Whenever a new player joins Star Wars: Legions of Conquest ingame as a clone trooper, they will be paired with five other soldiers and put into a squad. One feature following your incorporation would be automatic voice chat. That, however, won't be a problem--as a clone trooper, you ought to sound like your doner, Jango Fett, or one of the members from Delta Squad. For ingame voice communication, different presets will be set before you. So if you wish to remain "aliased" or just don't like to be heard with a high-pitched voice, then set your worries aside--no matter what tone, it will be automatically adjusted. The purpose for ingame voice chat is to improve your co-op experience with others players and to make for a more realistic experience inside the clone trooper's helmet, where you would also see the first person POV of your squadmates at the top-left positions of your own POV.
POV If you inquire whether or not this is entirely first-person, it isn't, though it is encouraged to be used. The reason for additional third person is so you could see your customizable skin completely. We wouldn't put so much work into the models only to discard viewing of it, and you likely wouldn't want to do the same with your skin.
Division As a clone trooper, you would have several professions and divisions set out before you, such the main military, legions and/or battalions, Republic Commandos, Advanced Recon Commandos, bomb disposers and scout troopers. With each division comes different skills, different ways of communication, different weapons, and different operations.
Armor Design/Customization You would notice that in Star Wars Episodes II & III, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: Battlefront II and in Star Wars: The Clone Wars that all armor come with different kinds of design, color (one of which you might have to use depending on your legion), and additional equipment like kilts, pauldrons, holsters and so on. As a clone trooper, those options will also be set out before you.
Interaction In Star Wars: Legions of Conquest, there's more to interaction than personal communication with your squadmates--there is also physical contact. For those who have played Amnesia: Dark Descent, you'll notice that you can grab many different objects and use them as requirements for your inventory or just to throw at random. A similar interaction system will be brought about in this game, including being able to read Datapads, throwing other objects at the enemy if you don't wish to waste ammo, or to access some areas like ventilation ducts.
Dead or Alive? If you ever get caught in a heated situation where it's life for selfishness or death for sacrifice, it can turn the entire tide of the war with any one mistake inside of a mission. Normally, those who die are forced to restart with a new character. But there is always the possibility of bare survival. Should you survive, you'd either have the option to run freely as a deserter or return back to the Republic. It's either that or no freedom at all, resulting in a Separatist mindwipe.
Zombie Mode There hasn't been a first-person shooter game I've played without zombies in it. In a Star Wars-ized fashion, a Zombie survival mode will be constructed called Dathomirian Zombie Resurrection, in a more intense way than many other kinds of zombie modes as we can muster.
If you have any more questions, please visit our FAQ and should the answers not be there, feel free to submit them in the comments below, as well as your own ideas.
